Collins Christie Memorial Race & Beechmount Cup

Important Notice

 

Please be advised that Navan Road Club must comply with the Government Statement issued at 6pm today in relation to a lockdown in Offaly, Kildare and Laois effective from 12 tonight. 

 

If you are living in Offaly, Kildare or Laois please do not attend the Beechmount Cup on Saturday or the Collins Christie Memorial on Sunday. This applies to all riders, officials, spectators etc.

It is important for the image of our club, our sport and the health and well-being of all involved that you respect this Important Notice. We will work with Cycling Ireland and Eventmaster and advise when we can in relation to refunds for those riders who were unable to take part in these races due to the travel restrictions imposed

 

Given the late change and the existence of online entry with Covid guidelines, IT WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE to facilitate existing entry changes to other riders following withdrawals.

 

BEECHMOUNT & COLLINS CHRISTIE RACE INFORMATION

The following information is related to Beechmount Cup and Collins Christie cycle races, being run by Navan Road Club on the 8th and 9th of August 2020 (respectively). ALL RACE CATEGORIES ARE FULL. No entries accepted on the day of the race.

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS TO BE NO PARKING IN KILMESSAN VILLAGE AT ANY POINT OVER THE WEEKEND WHILST ATTENDING THE RACES.

USE CAR PARK PROVIDED.

Please note that the same course will be used for all races being held on Saturday and Sunday.

Beechmount Cup Race Information

Race Start Time: 7pm.

There is a car park being setup for the race and it is located at the following Eircode: C15 VY36.

The start point of the race will be at the Bective Pub (Crocketts), which is 2.2kms from the car park.

The race will finish line will be at Fergies Bar in Kilmessan Village.

This is a handicapped race being run over 3 laps of the course.

 

 

 

 

 

Collins Christie Memorial Race Information

There are separate races for the following race categories:

A4 – Race Start Time 9.30am – 4 laps of the circuit. (Early race start time is to facilitate mass happening in Killmessan village during the morning).

A3 + Junior (combined race) – Race Start Time 12.30pm5 laps of the circuit.

A1/A2 (combined race) – Race Start Time 12.30pm. – 6 Laps of the circuit.

There is a car park being setup for the race and it is located at the following Eircode: C15 VY36.

The finish line for the A4 race will be located roughly 1km from Crocketts pub in Bective. You will pass through the finish line when going through each lap.

The finish line for the A3/Junior + A1/A2 race will be Fergies bar, in Kilmessan village.

In line with government guidelines and also Cycling Ireland guidelines those who are attending the race, must fill out a COVID-19 questionnaire, before attending weekend races. The link to the questionnaire can be found here:

Navan Road Club welcome all riders to the races and wish them an enjoyable and safe race.

 

Collins Christie Memorial Race – Online entry for this race is now open, race takes place on the 9th August, in Kilmessan, just outside Navan.

We will be holding separate race for the following categories:
A4 – Race off at 9.30am. (This is to facilitate mass that is taking place later on in the village).
A3/Junior – Race off at midday.
A1/A2 – Race off at midday.

Please note that entries are limited in each race listed above, A4 – 80no, A3 – 65no, Junior – 15no, A1/A2 – 80no total for both. So please enter early. Entries close at 9pm Friday 7th August, if not sold out before then.
